Rausu Akaba Red Kombu is collected from the Shiretoko Peninsula Coast in Hokkaido. When compared to other Kombu, Rausu Akaba Red Kombu has wider and thinner leaves. The color is reddish-brown with red leaves. It is called the King of Kombu of its rich flavored broth called “Dashi”.
